Virgin Islanders

The Virgin Islanders

The secrets of the first people to settle St. Croix are ultimately mingled with the yet only partially understood story of the very earliest people in the Caribbean. The best archaeological evidence indicates these first settlers, who subsequently came to be called Amerindians, occupied St. Croix and the smaller, neighboring islands to the north for perhaps as long as five millennia, perhaps longer.
